Hi, I’m Val! Welcome to Spoon & Kin, a food collective blog. I am a registered dietitian and total foodie. Food is something that connects everyone across the world, and this blog is to connect family, friends and you with anything food and nutrition.
Not all recipes will be healthy, because balance is the key to life! This blog was created after receiving many recipes from family and friends while getting married in 2019. I wanted a place to share these family recipes with everyone. I come from a long line of chocoholics and received many dessert recipes from both my husband’s and my side of the family. My goal for this blog is to not only share the recipes I got during my wedding showers, but to also share recipes, food and nutrition topics from others on the blog. My two biggest food influencers are Julia Child and Mary Berry. I would say my cooking techniques take after Julia Child’s by being okay with mistakes (or just improvising) and making sure there is plenty of wine! Bon appetite!
